Despensa de alimentos de Nantucket
A Nantucket Food Pantry, um programa de segurança alimentar da Nantucket Food Fuel & Rental Assistance (NFFRA), atende a centenas de clientes semanalmente. Liderada pela gerente Ruth Pitts e por voluntários dedicados, a Food Pantry fornece alimentos básicos, produtos frescos e refeições preparadas durante todo o ano. Eles também fazem entregas para alguns clientes. A Food Pantry é um parceiro vital da comunidade no esforço para reduzir a insegurança alimentar na ilha.

🤝 Meet the newest member of our staff, Kate Ortega! 🤝
Many of you know Kate from her time as owner of Gift & Box or barre instructor @nantucketcyclingfitness, but currently, she is completing her master`s degree internship with NN. We are so lucky for her fresh perspective and expertise!
🏝️ Favorite spot on island: I love being in the forest and being surrounded by nature - anywhere I can really immerse myself in the trees and trails.
🍳 Hobbies: I am a total bookworm and I love reading. I also love traveling the world with my family.
🧡 Connection to island: I came to Nantucket in 2007 as a student and have never lived anywhere else in the U.S. I met my husband here, my kids were born here - it`s truly home.
💬 One word to describe myself: Curious!

Our first farmtruck of 2026 had to be moved indoors due to frigid temperatures 🥶🥶🥶
We are thankful to @pipandanchor for selecting fresh produce and to @nantucketbgc for hosting our program! We hope NBGC families enjoyed some fresh, locally sourced produce (in the dead of winter)!
