Nantucket Food Pantry
The Nantucket Food Pantry, a food security program of Nantucket Food Fuel & Rental Assistance (NFFRA), serves hundreds of clients on a weekly basis. Led by manager Ruth Pitts and dedicated volunteers, the Food Pantry provides pantry staples, fresh produce and prepared meals year-round. They also make deliveries to some clients. The Food Pantry is a vital community partner in the effort to reduce food insecurity on the island.

Nourish News
Now that we have officially launched our new website, nourishnantucket.org, we are excited to embark upon this next chapter of partnership and growth. Although a few things have changed, like our name and website, our mission and our values haven`t. We will continue to:
➡️ Support & strengthen our food program partners
➡️ Examine the food sector to identify the gaps
➡️ Fundraise collectively & bring in new donors
➡️ Use our Food First platform to reach the maximum amount of clients

In honor of @nantucketbookfestival which is taking place on island June 12-15, here`s one of our recent recommendations. Released in March 2025, this non-fiction account of 5 families across Atlanta will leave you with more questions than answers. It`s a compelling account of the intersection between job/housing/food/life (in)security in the US. Interestingly and perhaps unsurprisingly, there are many parallels to be drawn between Atlanta and Nantucket. A great read to think about how to break down the barriers of housing and food insecurity in the future. Comment below if you`ve read this book #nonfictionreads #bookdiscussion #nantucket
