The Nantucket Food Pantry, a food security program of Nantucket Food Fuel & Rental Assistance (NFFRA), serves hundreds of clients on a weekly basis. Led by manager Ruth Pitts and dedicated volunteers, the Food Pantry provides pantry staples, fresh produce and prepared meals year-round. They also make deliveries to some clients. Semantics matter. When choosing a name to represent an organization, the meaning behind it has to matter. We chose nourish because its definitions, according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, represent our mission and our call to action. Yes, the goal is to ensure that no one goes hungry on #Nantucket. Most importantly, the goal is to create a cohesive network that addresses all the needs of food insecurity. Help make this vision a reality.
The work that we do isn`t possible without the incredible cohort of partners that we have teamed up with to fight food insecurity. Each month, we will spotlight one of our program partners to share what their organization does. For such a small island, there is an abundance of resources to be utilized! #Nantucket #communityimpact #collaborativeefforts #partnerspotlight
